La artesanía textil que se crea en San Andrés Larráinzar,  Chiapas tiene gran significado, pues uno de los símbolos que vemos con más frecuencia, repetición y reinterpretación es el MUK TA LUCH símbolo del universo maya, utilizado desde el periodo Clásico Maya en la Ciudad de Yaxchilán por la reina Kabal Xook. Este símbolo representa la salida del sol desde el cielo al inframundo, a través del tiempo y el espacio.
